Ryane's Run Against Traffic
This fundraiser supports Oak Tree Run 2016
About This Fundraiser
Dear friends, family, and interested people,
Did you know Seoul is a global hub for human trafficking? Migrants, orphans, and runaways are targeted and exploited in the sex industry in Korea.
In two weeks, runners will be running with a cause to raise awareness about the sex trafficking in Korea. People will be running 5K, 10K, and half marathons. I will be participating in the 5K run!
This is a modern-day abolitionist movement. Our vision is to raise awareness, raise individuals, and rouse the Church for the cause of justice in Korea. We have raised over $100,000 (100 million KRW) for organizations actively fighting for justice: Oak Tree Project, a scholarship-mentorship program for orphans; and HOPE Be Restored, an anti-trafficking ministry based in Seoul.
Visit http://give.oaktreeproject.com/en/otr2016 for more information, and join the movement!
Please consider partnering with me financially or with prayer!
Please pray that:
-the run will be effective in spreading awareness against trafficking
-that people would be blessed by encounters with runners who are running with a purpose
-that there will be safety and protection while travelling
I am really excited and I hope you are too!
Thank you and may God bless you!

About Oak Tree Run 2016
On Saturday, October 15, 2016, Oak Tree Project will be partnering with a race for underprivileged children in Korea to raise funds for scholarships for orphans in South Korea. Orphans in Korea are on their own after they graduate from high school and many struggle to get by financially and emotionally. It is especially difficult for those who get into college who have to work while studying. The stress and loneliness leads to depression and desperation for many, which can lead to prostitution, joining gangs, or even suicide. Oak Tree Project is a scholarship and mentoring program designed to not just help the orphans have funds through college, but to also receive the emotional support and guidance they need to succeed. To find out more about the Oak Tree Project, please visit www.oaktreeproject.com.
