About This Fundraiser

In South Korea, once a orphan graduates from high school all support from the government is cut off. They are expected to fend for themselves and earn their own money to survive. As an orphan with no emotional or financial support, this transition can be incredibly burdensome to handle on their own. Therefore, for those orphans that attend college it is even more difficult because they must juggle work, school and living expenses. Oak Tree Project was created for these students, because they believed that these orphans could not drop out of college, and reach their fullest potential, if someone were to help support them financially and even emotionally. Along with a monthly $500 scholarship, each student is connect with a mentor that cheer for these students emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Currently 21 orphans are benefitting from this project, and we wish to raise more funds to support even more orphans struggling to attend college and make ends meat.

I will be running for the orphans in October and need your support! Please help spread the word and help me raise scholarship money for the Orphans. 100% of donations will be used as a scholarship for orphans that are a part of Oak Tree Project!

About Oak Tree Run 2017

On Saturday, October 21, 2017, Oak Tree Project will be holding our 3rd annual Oak Tree Run to raise funds for scholarships for orphans in South Korea. Orphans in Korea are on their own after they graduate from high school and many struggle to get by financially and emotionally. It is especially difficult for those who get into college who have to work while studying. The stress and loneliness leads to depression and desperation for many, which can lead to prostitution, joining gangs, or even suicide. Oak Tree Project is a scholarship and mentoring program designed to not just help the orphans have funds through college, but to also receive the emotional support and guidance they need to succeed.
