Oak Tree Run 2018 Fundraising Page

Hello! I'll be running 5.4K race on Sat, Oct 20 at 9am at Ttukseom Han River Park as a participant of Oak Tree Run 2018. All funds raised will go to a scholarship fund for Korean orphans whom the Oak Tree Project supports. Thank you for your generosity!

안녕하세요! 2018년 10월 20일 토요일에 뚝섬한강공원에서 열리는 참나무달리기 자선프로젝트에서 5.4K를 달리게 되었습니다. 본 행사는 보육원에서 부모님 없이 지내는 학생들의 대학 진학을 돕기 위한 장학금 모금 행사로, 참가자들로부터 모금된 참가비 및 후원자들로부터 모금된 기부금전액은 참나무프로젝트 학생들의 장학금으로 쓰여집니다. 많은 관심과 후원 부탁드려요!

On Saturday, October 20, 2018, Oak Tree Project will be holding our 4th annual Oak Tree Run to raise funds for scholarships for orphans in South Korea. Orphans in Korea are on their own after they graduate from high school and many struggle to get by financially and emotionally. It is especially difficult for those who get into college who have to work while studying. The stress and loneliness leads to depression and desperation for many, which can lead to prostitution, joining gangs, or even suicide. Oak Tree Project is a scholarship and mentoring program designed to not just help the orphans have funds through college, but to also receive the emotional support and guidance they need to succeed. To run, you can sign up for the 3K, 5.4K, 10K, or half-marathon. The registration fee is ₩35,000 and the deadline for sign-ups is September 30th, 2018. All registrants will receive a free t-shirt. The registration fee will go directly to the Oak Tree Project scholarship fund.
